
FRANK geothermal probes are manufactured from high-quality PE 100-RC materials.
They are factory-welded and delivered pre-assembled to the required length as duplex (double U) probes.
The probe base is permanently joined to the probe pipe using specially developed automated welding systems. A defining feature of the probe base is its design as a molded component specifically engineered for geothermal applications, incorporating flow deflection without any reduction in cross-section. This design enables pigging of the probe.
All welding processes are performed by welders certified according to DVS standards. An individual probe certificate is provided for each unit on this homepage.
Manufacturing of the geothermal probes is carried out in accordance with SKZ guideline HR 3.26 (SKZ certificate no. A 466 / A 803). These factory-welded geothermal probes comply with VDI 4640, while welding procedures follow DVS guidelines. The pipes are marked with a corresponding metre marking.
Both the probe base and probe pipes are produced from polyethylene PE 100-RC, black, in accordance with PAS 1075, SDR 11 or SDR 9. The designation “RC” refers to Resistant to Crack. This material is approved for installation without a sand bed.
Production is subject to external monitoring by MPA Darmstadt and IMA Dresden.
