The FRANK VTP® (Vertical Thermpipe) is a near-surface geothermal system developed specifically for applications where drilling depths are restricted. It is designed for use in areas where conventional geothermal probes cannot be applied due to regulatory, technical or economic limitations.
In contrast to conventional geothermal probes, the FRANK VTP® does not rely on deep drilling. Instead, it utilises the upper layers of the subsoil for targeted heat extraction. Even at drilling depths of only 6 to 12 metres, sufficient extraction capacities for renewable energy applications can be achieved. This makes the system particularly suitable for locations where deep drilling is not feasible, thereby enabling new possibilities for the use of geothermal energy.
Pre-fabricated FRANK VTP® elements, produced at the factory, ensure a straightforward, fast and reliable installation process. The shallow drilling depths allow for the use of cost-efficient drilling techniques, such as hollow auger drilling methods.
Designed for a long service life across generations, the FRANK VTP® represents a durable and economical solution for harnessing renewable energy, without the typical constraints associated with conventional geothermal probes.
