Where we come from
The company was founded in 1898 by Mr Chemain and taken over by the Boisserand family in 1914. Initially specialising in engravings, watermarking processes and marking technologies, the company soon recognised the potential of plastic materials and started to develop new applications. In its constant pursuit of innovation, RANDEX recognised the potential of these materials and started to develop new applications.
This pioneering spirit has led to several major milestones, including producing innovative plastic valves for washing machines in the 1950s, creating the first injection-moulded PVDF valves in France and developing the RANDEX monobloc ball valve. These achievements have laid the foundation for our current core business of developing and manufacturing high-quality speciality valves and precision plastic components for demanding industrial and marine applications worldwide.
Today, our dedicated team combines over 120 years of experience with modern engineering expertise. All key processes, from design and toolmaking to machine construction and production, are carried out at our headquarters in Voiron, ensuring high quality, reliability, and flexibility.
In 2019, a new chapter in our history began when RANDEX joined the FRANK Group. As part of this family-owned company, we combine our expertise in valves and precision plastic components with the knowledge, experience, and resources of over 600 specialists. Together, we provide advanced plastic solutions for industrial, infrastructure, and utility applications, including piping systems, geothermal energy, industrial plastics, and plastic welding technologies.
While remaining true to our roots and entrepreneurial spirit, we benefit from the strength, innovation and international reach of the FRANK Group. Today, RANDEX combines over a century of French engineering heritage with the capabilities of a robust European partner to deliver reliable solutions to customers worldwide.

1898
Foundation of the company in the Rue des Terreaux by Voiron Chemain. The original business activity was metal engraving for printing.
1914
Mr. Eugene Boisserand (1 st generation) purchased the company from Mr. Chemain. The company headquarters is moved to the Rue Porte de la Buisse.
1948
The son, Raymond Boisserand, takes over his father's business and develops manufacturing processes for paper watermarks for the renowned manufacturer CANSON, among others. In addition, solutions for marking industrial control cabinets for power distribution were manufactured.
1956
With the first plastic injection moulding machine in 1956, the foundation was laid for a new line of business: the development and manufacture of high-quality valves made of plastic.
Success was quickly achieved with the first ball valves for washing machines made of Rilsan/NBR.
1958
The company is renamed to RANDEX (BoisseRAND EXploitation).
1970
Inauguration of new building in 15 Route des bois VOIRON 38500
1975
First company in France to injection mould PVDF with Kynar 1000 HF
1986
Mr. Pierre Boisserand (3 rd generation) takes over the company

Production of first monoblock ball valve
